Kenya, 24 November 2025 – Ademasajida Ward in Wajir County came alive on Sunday as Al Fatah FC clinched a hard-fought victory over Zenit FC in the final of the Risa Super Cup, a youth-focused soccer tournament sponsored by local intellectual Abdihakin Risa.
Al Fatah FC claimed the top prize of KSh 230,000, while runners-up Zenit FC received KSh 115,000.
Designed to empower young people during the long school holidays, the tournament attracted large crowds from Ademasajida and neighbouring Habaswein wards.
Sixteen teams from the area battled through knockout rounds under the relentless sun before Zenit FC and Al Fatah FC reached the final.
The showpiece match was attended by football officials, religious imams, police officers, and local administration officials, who praised the event for promoting unity and healthy competition across the north-eastern region.
Speaking at the prize-giving ceremony, Abdihakin Risa urged the youth to channel the same effort displayed on the pitch into their education.

“As you grow, my fellow youth, stay away from drugs and crime,” Risa said.
“I will work with other professionals and collaborate with the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to ensure talented youngsters are nurtured and given the chance to become star players.”
Risa also thanked the area administration and security agencies for ensuring the tournament proceeded without interruption.
As the dust settled on the Ademasajida pitch, the Risa Super Cup reaffirmed the community’s passion for football and its role as a beacon of hope for Wajir’s young generation.
