Djibouti, 22 December 2025 The President of Djibouti, Ismail Omar Guelleh and the Italian Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, met on Monday to discuss cooperation in the fields of industry, agriculture, and port development, aiming to establish mutually beneficial partnerships.
The meeting, which took place at the Presidential Palace in Djibouti, also focused on the ongoing cooperation projects in various fields and their expected benefits.
After the meeting, Tajani told the media that Italy had decided to increase its exchanges and cooperation with Djibouti, particularly in agriculture, industry, and ports.

The Djiboutian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdoulaker Housein Omar, who also attended the meeting, emphasized the tangible cooperation in maritime security in the region, mainly the ATALANTE and ASPIDES operations.
This visit signifies the development of bilateral relations, with a focus on enhancing industry and port infrastructure, highlighting their joint efforts to promote economic growth and regional stability.
