Djibouti City (Dawan Africa) – The Republic of Djibouti has today officially launched its National Development Plan for 2025–2030 today, a comprehensive initiative aimed at accelerating the country’s economic growth, addressing basic needs, and strengthening infrastructure.
The event, held in Djibouti City, was chaired by Prime Minister Abdoulkader Kamil Mohamed and attended by national, regional, and international officials, including representatives from the United Nations.
The National Development Plan focuses on improving public services, including healthcare, education, youth employment, and infrastructure. Ilyas Moussa Dawaleh, Minister of Economy and Finance, emphasized the plan's potential to make a real difference in the lives of Djibouti's citizens.
“This is the third five-year plan Djibouti has implemented, building on the experience and lessons learned from the two previous ones. Djibouti is committed to long-term development and strategic planning,” Minister Ilyas stated.
United Nations representatives expressed their full support for the plan, noting that it aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially in the areas of public service delivery and economic development.
The plan is set to play a crucial role in shaping Djibouti's development trajectory over the next five years, reinforcing the country’s commitment to sustainable growth and social progress.
