Djibouti (Dawan Africa) – The Ministry of Education and Vocational Training in Djibouti has launched a specialized program aimed at developing leadership and discipline skills among youth at Guuleed Military School. The initiative targets a select group of students known as the “Iftiimiyeyaasha” (The Enlightened) and is designed to equip both male and female participants with practical skills in discipline, teamwork, and civic responsibility.
The program was launched on Monday and included structured military-style training as a means to build self-confidence, enhance focus, and instill self-discipline in participants. The training was supervised by specialized military officers with a strong emphasis on character building and leadership development.
In addition to the training sessions, the program included field visits to historical and cultural sites across Djibouti to strengthen students’ connection to their national heritage and reinforce community values. This comprehensive approach aims to complement academic education with practical life experiences that foster maturity and awareness.
Djibouti’s Minister of Education and Vocational Training, Mustafe Mohamed Mohamoud, stated that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to holistic education. “Our goal is to raise a generation of responsible, disciplined youth ready to serve their communities,” he said.
This is the third edition of the program, which concluded with a military-style demonstration showcasing the skills the students acquired during the training.
