This election, held at the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, is considered a significant achievement for Djibouti and the entire Horn of Africa.
Djiboutian President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh, who was part of the reception ceremony at Djibouti-Ambouli International Airport, congratulated Mohamud Ali Yusuf, describing him as a highly experienced diplomat in African and international affairs.
Speaking at the grand welcoming event in Djibouti Presidential Palace Square, Mohamud Ali Yusuf expressed his gratitude to President Guelleh for his unwavering support.
The Djiboutian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, located on Djamal Abdinasir Avenue, Djibouti City, issued an official statement emphasizing that this position strengthens Djibouti’s influence in African politics and serves as an opportunity to advance the interests of the Horn of Africa region.
