Ethiopia, 12 November 2025 — Ethiopia's Health Ministry has issued a public advisory following reports of Hemorrhagic Fever cases in several regions of the country.
Authorities are taking immediate measures to prevent further spread of the contagious viral disease.
The ministry emphasized the importance of early detection and prompt medical attention, noting that symptoms can include high fever, severe headache, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and both internal and external bleeding.
Individuals experiencing any of these symptoms are urged to seek care at the nearest health facility.
Officials called on communities to remain vigilant, practice strict hygiene, and avoid close contact with suspected cases. Health facilities have been instructed to implement proper isolation procedures to contain the outbreak.

Viral haemorrhagic fevers are a group of serious illnesses caused by several families of viruses — including filoviruses (such as Ebola virus disease and Marburg virus disease), arenaviruses (like Lassa fever), bunyaviruses (such as Rift Valley fever and Crimean‑Congo haemorrhagic fever) and flaviviruses (for example Yellow fever).
