Kenya, 22 November 2025 - In a closely contested match, Gor Mahia took all three points home to remain top of the FKF Premier League table and keep their title-winning hopes alive.
The green army began the match on a high tempo, finding the net in the seventh minute through an own-goal from Tusker FC player Brian Opondo.
Tusker put up a fight, but couldn’t get past the organised Gor Mahia defense. The game ended 1-0 at halftime.
In the second period, K’Ogalo showed their defensive prowess by keeping Tusker at bay and denying them a chance to equalise. The visitors had multiple half-chances which they never managed to convert.
Gor Mahia have now recorded six wins, one draw, and one loss in eight games. They sit comfortably at the top of FKF Premier League table, 4 points above Kakamega Homeboyz with a game in hand.
Charles Akonnor’s men have been disciplined defensively, conceding only two goals in eight matches.

Their unbeaten run can be attributed to their solid defensive record, which many teams have found hard to break.
Tusker, on the other hand, has recorded its consecutive losses after last week’s defeat to Kenya police and its fourth loss of the season from 10 matches. They sit 8th on the table with 12 points, seven behind the league leaders despite having played two games more. Their goal tally is another concern, with a -2 goal difference.
This loss will come as a disappointment to Tusker fans, who hoped to claim a win against Gor Mahia and keep their title hopes alive.
With a club of the caliber of Tusker, nothing is more important than good results, and that means Charles Okere will begin feeling the pressure if the team’s results don’t take a positive turn.
He will be demanding calm from his players amidst the inconsistent results.
