The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has temporarily halted operations at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) following a major security lapse after mourners breached restricted zones during the arrival of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s remains.
The incident prompted aviation authorities to suspend flights and restore order as security teams moved to secure the facility and ensure public safety.

KCAA has advised travelers and the public to avoid the airport until normal operations resume. A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has been issued, with the agency confirming that services will be restored once the airport is deemed fully secure.
