Kenya, 12 January 2026 - Candidates interested in the position of Director General at Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) have until Tuesday (tomorrow) latest 5pm to submit their applications for the vacancy (Job Reference: KeRRA/DG/01/2025) on a 3-year contract (Grade 1).
The recruitment follows the interim appointment of Jackson K. Magondu, who is currently serving in the position on an acting basis.
The successful candidate will provide overall leadership and strategic direction to the Authority, overseeing the implementation of its mandate on the development, maintenance, and management of rural road infrastructure across the country.
The Director General will translate KeRRA’s strategic objectives into actionable plans, manage the Authority’s financial and human resources, and ensure the effective delivery of annual goals and performance targets.
The role also includes spearheading policy implementation, strengthening institutional capacity, and enhancing accountability and efficiency in the execution of road projects.
Applicants must possess a minimum of 15 years of professional experience, including at least 10 years of post-registration experience in highway and road engineering.

Candidates are required to have not less than 10 years’ experience in a senior management position within the roads or infrastructure sector.
Further, applicants must be registered with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) as a Professional Engineer, alongside other academic and professional qualifications as stipulated in the advertisement.
The appointment comes at a time when KeRRA is playing a critical role in expanding and maintaining rural road networks, which are key to improving connectivity, supporting agriculture, and driving economic growth in underserved areas.
