Kenya, 24 November 2025 - Mandera Governor Mohamed Adan Khalif (MAK) has urged young people across the county to embrace sports as a pathway to unlocking their full potential.
Speaking during the grand finale of the Governor MAK Super Cup 2025 at Wayam Boys Secondary School playground, Governor Khalif reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to youth development through sports and talent empowerment.
“We remain steadfast in developing and harnessing youth talent to ensure that the youth of Mandera unlock their immense potential,” he said.
The thrilling final saw Shamurey FC from Mandera East secure a dominant 3–0 victory against El Hache FC from Mandera South, earning this year’s championship title to the excitement of fans.
The Governor MAK Super Cup 2025 attracted more than 300 teams from across the county, competing in rigorous knockout rounds before the top two advanced to the final showdown.
Governor Khalif praised the impressive performance and discipline demonstrated throughout the tournament, applauding both finalists for their sportsmanship.
He also commended the Ministry of Social Development and the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) for their excellent coordination and management of the competition.
Mandera Senator Ali Roba called on youth to remain united and avoid harmful activities that threaten their lives and future.
“We must stay focused on positive development and support one another,” he urged. “Sports is a strong tool for unity and progress, and I am fully committed to supporting youth initiatives in the coming months.”
The Governor’s Super Cup continues to serve as a major platform for identifying talent, promoting peace, and strengthening social cohesion across Mandera County.
