Somalia, 22 January 2026 Mogadishu Port is set to launch a website boosting transparency and accountability efforts as Somalia seeks to attract business and investments.
Port Manager, Mohamed Ali Nur Americo, said the new plan is aimed at improving access to port information for residents, businesses, customers and partners.
"We are currently working on launching a website in the coming days, and we want to include all the information related to the port on this site," Americo said in an interview with Dawan Media's Mizan Podcast, aired Wednesday evening.
The Manager stated that the website will not only show annual data but will also include monthly updates on various types of goods entering the country, such as food supplies and fuel. Additionally, it will provide information on goods leaving the country, including livestock, sesame, limes, and bananas.

"This website will show, month by month, what the port has received, including the amount collected by the government," he said. "This will be transparent and accessible for all Somalis to view."
This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to improve management and enhance transparency, with expectations that the website will also help enhance public trust in the port's administration.
This plan includes the launch of a new website that will display data regarding what enters and exits the port each month, including the amount of money generated by the government from the port.
