Mogadishu (Dawan Africa) – Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) claims its forces, in coordination with international partners, carried out targeted operations across Hiiraan, Middle Shabelle, and Galgaduud regions over three days, killing at least 11 Al-Shabaab members and destroying vehicles and military supplies.
NISA reported that the first strike on August 12 in Tardo, Hiiraan, targeted an Al-Shabaab meeting, eliminating seven militants. A second operation on August 13 in Daarulnimca, Middle Shabelle, thwarted a planned attack, killing four militants including longtime commander Abdullaahi Ganey. On August 14 in Nooleeye, Galgaduud, NISA said it destroyed a vehicle carrying weapons intended for an attack in Ceeldheer district.

The agency stated the operations disrupted Al-Shabaab’s logistics and weakened its central Somalia presence, preventing planned attacks on civilians and security forces. Independent verification of casualties and damage was not immediately available.
