The Office of the Attorney General of Puntland recently convened a high-level meeting to strategize the fight against terrorist financing, according to Puntland’s state media.
The meeting, chaired by the Attorney General and his deputy, included top officials from Nugaal Regional Police Command, Garowe Police Station heads, and the Nugaal Prosecutor's Office.

The discussions focused on strengthening counter-terrorism efforts, combating extremist propaganda on social media, securing borders, and preventing the escape of ISIS militants targeted in operations around the Calmiskad Mountains.
"The meeting focused on strengthening the fight against terrorist financing, tackling their supporters on social media, securing borders, and preventing the escape of terrorists from the Calmiskad Mountains," Puntland's state-run TV reported.
Since late December, Puntland has been engaged in an intense military campaign against ISIS, particularly in the Calmiskad mountain range. The Puntland government had earlier announced an offensive aimed at eliminating ISIS elements operating within its territory.
