Kenya, 30 November 2025 - Police across the country have stepped up the fight against illegal drugs and alcohol, with fresh arrests reported in both Rift Valley and Western regions over the weekend.
In Kuresoi North, Nakuru County, the officers have intensified operations targeting the trafficking and distribution of narcotic drugs following the arrest of three suspects who were in possession of multiple rolls of bhang.
The National Police Service (NPS) said on Sunday that the arrests took place when officers on routine patrol intercepted the three men in Kwa Manga area, Nyota Sub-Location.
A search revealed several large rolls of the banned substance concealed in their possession.
The suspects were immediately taken into custody as police finalise their investigations before they are arraigned.
The trio will face charges related to possession and trafficking of narcotic drugs.
Police did not specify the street value of the substance nabbed, but emphasised that similar operations will continue not just in Kuresoi alone, but in the whole country, with increased patrols, roadblocks, and targeted raids in known hotspots.

"The National Police Service remains committed to combating the circulation of illegal drugs and safeguarding public welfare," NPS said.
Members of the public have been encouraged to partner with security agencies by reporting suspicious activities anonymously through police hotlines or local administrators.
Meanwhile, the officers from Matete Police Station in Kakamega County on Saturday raided Makhukuni area and arrested five suspects found with 35 litres of chang’aa, the potent illicit brew.
The five are also in custody awaiting arraignment.
The latest arrests deal a significant blow to local supply networks.
The availability of cannabis and other substances has been blamed for fuelling crime and school dropouts in the areas these substances are distributed.
