Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Somali National Army backed by the International Partners on Tuesday conducted an operation at an area in Bakool region southwest Somalia and neutralized 7 Al-Shabaab militants.
"In a joint operation, SNA & international partners neutralized 7 Al-Shabaab terrorists plotting attacks in Bakool. This successful mission was based on credible intelligence and aimed at safeguarding citizens. We remain committed to eliminating the threat of terrorism in Somalia", Ministry of Defense of Somalia said in X.
It did not provide details about the exact location of operation and 7 members themselves and if they were casualties on their side so far.
But the comes hours after two Somali National Army members were killed and three others injured after a remote control landmine exploded at the main checkpoint in Ceelberde town in Bakool region southwest Somalia, eyewitnesses said Tuesday.
