Somalia, 1 January 2026 The Somali National Army, in collaboration with international partners, has killed 29 Al-Shabaab militants in targeted airstrikes in Jabad Godane area, Shabelle region.
A press statement issued by the Ministry of Defence stated that the operations conducted on Wednesday night led to the death of 29 combatants, with vehicles and weapons belonging to the group also being destroyed.
The statement emphasized that the government remains committed to its fight against Al-Shabaab and will continue until it is victorious. "The Ministry of Defence and the Somali National Army Command have once again pledged that operations against terrorism will continue until peace and stability are restored throughout the country.”
