Somali National Army Claims to Kill 47 Al-Shabaab Militants in Galgudud Operation

Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-The Somali National Army (SNA) has killed 47 Al-Shabaab militants during an operation near the Ceel-dheer district in the Galgudud region of central Somalia.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Information on Saturday, the SNA, in coordination with international partners and supported by local forces, neutralized a vehicle used by the militants, which was completely destroyed during the operation.

Al-Shabaab, however, claimed that they killed nine government soldiers, injured 12 others, and recovered weapons in a roadside bomb attack and direct clashes in the same area on Friday. Independent sources have not yet confirmed these claims or the reported casualties on either side.
