Saudi Arabia, 7 November 2025 — Somalia and Saudi Arabia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on strengthening cooperation in youth and sports development.
The MOU was signed in Riyadh by Youth and Sports Minister Mohamed Abdulqadir Ali, and his Saudi counterpart, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal.
The agreement focuses on reconstructing sports facilities, enhancing youth skills, and creating job opportunities, with Saudi Arabia providing direct support to Somalia.
While in Riyadh, Minister Ali is also expected to hold meetings with other Arab League ministers to strengthen cooperation on youth development, sports, and educational opportunities.
This initiative is viewed as a significant step in advancing Somalia’s sports sector, coming at a time when Saudi Arabia continues to support the Federal Government in infrastructure development, health, and education.
