Kenya, 10 November 2025 — Somalia is using the 25th East African Community (EAC) Trade Fair in Nairobi to highlight its growing strength in agriculture, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Led by the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, the Somali delegation includes 28 entrepreneurs showcasing a variety of locally made products and services.
This marks Somalia’s first full participation in the regional trade fair, which runs from November 7 to 16. Sunday, November 9, was Somalia Day at the event.
Speaking at the fair, Minister of Agriculture Mohamed Abdi Hayir ‘Maareeye’ encouraged Somali companies to use the platform to demonstrate their capacity and creativity to the region.
“Somali companies, youth, and trade institutions should use this week to show the world and East Africa that we are an active and dynamic member of the East African Community," Maareeye said.
