Las'anod, Somalia – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, has officially declared that the SSC-Khaatumo administration is now a fully recognized federal member Administrations within the Federal Republic of Somalia.
The announcement was made during a major public event held last night in the city of Lasanod under the title “The Night of the Prime Minister and the People of SSC-Khaatumo.”
“I say it loud and clear — SSC-Khaatumo is a Somali administration and an integral part of the Federal Government of Somalia. It is Somali territory and not a disputed region,” said Prime Minister Hamza.
The Prime Minister also issued a direct call to international and governmental organizations to treat SSC-Khaatumo as they would any other official federal member state in Somalia.
He noted that this formal recognition will enable SSC-Khaatumo to participate in the National Consultative Council (NCC), giving it a greater voice and influence in national decision-making processes.
The Federal Government had previously recognized SSC-Khaatumo as an interim administration in October 2023.
