Kenya, January 29 , 2026 - The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has fired an early starting gun for the 2027 General Election, calling on hopeful candidates within the party to formally declare their interest through its Aspirants’ Forum — with a firm registration deadline now in place.
In a notice issued by the party’s National Elections Board (NEB), UDA set Monday, February 2, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. as the cut-off point for registration, urging members eyeing elective seats to act quickly.
“Following a notice issued on January 21, 2026, the United Democratic Alliance hereby informs all party members and aspiring candidates that the registration deadline for the UDA Aspirants’ Forum is Monday, February 2, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.,” the party said.
The message targets grassroots politicians and first-time hopefuls as much as seasoned players, signalling that the party wants to organise its internal pipeline well ahead of the national vote.
According to the NEB, registration is strictly online through the party’s official portal, where aspirants must also verify their details to secure their slot.
“All qualified and interested party members who intend to contest for various elective positions in the 2027 General Election are invited to complete their registration within the stipulated period,” the board stated.

Those who complete the process will be invited to the Aspirants’ Forum meeting scheduled for Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. at State House, Nairobi. Attendees will be required to present their national identity cards for verification.
Party insiders say the forum is designed to bring potential candidates into early dialogue with party leadership, helping to shape expectations, party discipline and campaign direction long before nominations begin.
NEB Chairman Anthony Mwaura underscored the party’s focus on order and transparency as it prepares for the next electoral cycle, a move that reflects how seriously parties are taking early planning in an increasingly competitive political landscape.
With more than a year before the campaign season peaks, UDA’s message is clear: for those seeking the party’s ticket in 2027, the journey starts now.
