Somalia, 12 November 2025 — The Independent National Electoral and Boundaries Commission (INEBC) has announced that issuance of voter cards for the Banadir Local Council elections will officially begin on Saturday, 15 November.
Speaking from the card printing center, INEBC Chairperson Abdikarin Ahmed Hassan said the printing of the voter cards is in its final stages, and registered residents will receive SMS notifications indicating where they can collect their cards.
“The printing of the cards is nearing completion, and on Saturday, 15 November, distribution of voter cards to registered residents of Banadir Region will begin,” Abdikarin said.
He added that distribution will initially take place in seven coastal districts of Mogadishu — Shingani, Abdiaziz, Hamar Jajab, Hamar Weyne, Shibis, Waberi, and Boondheere — before expanding to the remaining nine districts. A total of 42 collection points have been set up to ensure easy access for voters.
