Al-Shabaab carries out large scale attacks into army bases near Mogadishu

Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Al-Shabaab militants on Saturday morning carried out large scale attacks into two army bases of the Somali National Army in Balcad town in Middle Shabelle region, about 30 kilometers north of the capital Mogadishu.

The group claimed to have inflicted heavy casualties, but not identified yet so far.

Members of the Hirshabelle State authorities confirmed that the attacks happened incidents the downtown, but said it was too early to comment on the extent of the casualties.
