Al-Shabaab recaptures key area near Mahaday district

Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-Al-Shabaab militants on Saturday morning recaptured Cali Fooldheere, key location near Mahaday district in Middle Shabelle region without any resistance from the Somali National Army in the region.

Independence sources and the group's afflicted media also confirmed that the area fell into the militants.

The fall of this area comes as senior army officials including chief of the National Intelligence Agency and Chairperson of the Court of Armed Forces are in Aden-yabal district in the same region.

The Somali Government did not comment on the recapture of this area where SNA and Al-Shabaab fighters fought it harshly late last year.
