Kenya, 25 December 2025 - Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Mohamed Amin on Thursday conducted a comprehensive security assessment in Kwale County, during this festive season, characterised by festivities and increased movement of people.
Mr Amin began his tour at the Diani Police Station and proceeded to various beaches within Diani, areas that witnesses heightened activities due their potential to attract many tourists and local visitors.
“The focus of the assessment was to evaluate the existing security situation, operational preparedness, and service delivery by officers deployed on the ground to ensure the safety of both residents and visitors,” said DCI in a statement posted on its X handle on 25 December 2025.
Upon his arrival, Mr Amin was received by the Coast Regional Police Commander Ali Nuno, alongside the Regional Criminal Investigations Officer, Daniel Kandie, and other senior police officials.
The DCI Boss also had an opportunity to engage with members of the public to understand their security concerns, underscoring the importance of community cooperation in enhancing effective policing.

Mr Amin also inspected the holding cells and interacted with suspects arrested for various crimes within Diani.
“National Police Service (NPS) is committed to upholding human rights and maintaining professionalism in conducting investigations on criminal cases and prefer charges according to the law,” he said.
The security assessment conducted by Mr Amin underscores NPS’s unwavering resolve to safeguard lives and property, enhance service delivery, and provide a peaceful, safe, and secure environment for all as Kenyans celebrate across the country, according to DCI.
