Djibouti, 13 October 2025 – Sixty women have completed a three-month vocational training program aimed at promoting entrepreneurship in Djibouti.
The training was organized by the National Union of Djiboutian Women, in collaboration with the Center for Sports, Recreation, and Women’s Training.
During the graduation ceremony, held at the Women’s Sports, Recreation, and Training Center in Djibouti’s 6th district, Youth and Culture Minister Hiba Moumin Assowe pledged her ministry’s continued support for similar initiatives to create employment opportunities for young people and contribute to the country’s overall economic growth.
“The Ministry is committed to working with the National Union of Djiboutian Women to support such programs that empower youth through job creation and economic opportunities,” Hiba Moumin said.
The vocational training program, designed specifically for women, focused on essential skills such as cooking, hairdressing, and basic beauty and self-care services.
The Djiboutian government is implementing a comprehensive plan to reduce widespread unemployment by equipping young people with vocational and income-generating skills, enabling them to actively contribute to the country’s economic growth and development efforts.
