23 November 2025 - Arsenal delivered one of their most commanding North London Derby performances in recent years as Eberechi Eze struck a sensational hat-trick to guide the Gunners to a dominant 4–1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium.
The win lifts Mikel Arteta’s side six points clear at the top of the Premier League, reinforcing their status as early title favourites.
The game began with the fierce tempo expected of a derby, but it was Arsenal who showed greater control and purpose in the final third.
Their breakthrough came in the 36th minute when Leandro Trossard curled in a precise effort after linking beautifully with Declan Rice on the edge of the box. The opener energized the home crowd, and from there Arsenal tightened their grip.
Just before halftime, Eze delivered his first moment of magic. Collecting a well-weighted pass from Rice, he shifted the ball onto his right foot and drove a low shot past Vicario to double the lead. His celebration said it all, this was a stage he had long dreamed of lighting up.
Within seconds of the second half kicking off, Eze struck again. Exploiting space between Spurs’ lines, he carried the ball forward with confidence and placed a clean finish beyond the goalkeeper. At 3–0, Arsenal were cruising and Tottenham looked shell-shocked.
Spurs pulled one back through Richarlison, who produced an audacious piece from nearly 40 yards after spotting David Raya off his line. For a moment, it seemed like the visitors might find a route back into the match, but Arsenal quickly regained control.
The afternoon belonged to Eze, and he completed his hat-trick in style in the 76th minute. Cutting inside from the left, he curled a superb effort into the far corner, sealing his first senior hat-trick.
He becomes only the fourth player to ever score a competitive hat-trick in this historic fixture.
Arsenal’s midfield, anchored by Rice, dominated the physical and tactical battle, while Trossard and Saka stretched Spurs relentlessly.
Defensively, William Arsenal were largely untroubled apart from Richarlison’s moment of brilliance.
This performance underlines Arsenal’s maturity and growing confidence. With a six-point cushion and momentum firmly on their side, Arteta’s men have sent a loud message to their title rivals.
And for Eze, this was more than a hat-trick, it was a statement of arrival on one of football’s fiercest stages.
