BOSSASO, PUNTLAND – Puntland's President, Siciid Abdullahi Deni, welcomed Colonel ED Norris, the U.S. Special Operations Commander for East Africa, and his delegation to Bossaso yesterday. The meeting focused primarily on security issues, highlighting the ongoing counterterrorism efforts in the region.
Enhanced Cooperation on Security
According to the Puntland Information Office, the discussions emphasized the successes of the anti-terrorism operations, particularly against ISIS in the Cal Miskaad mountains of Bari region. President Deni expressed gratitude for the U.S. aerial support that has significantly aided Puntland's efforts to eradicate terrorism.
