Ethiopia, 27 January 2026 U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Landau arrived in Ethiopia as part of a regional tour that includes Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Djibouti, scheduled to run from January 24 to February 1.
The visit also includes the Commander of the U.S. Africa Command, AFRICOM, Gen. Dagvin Anderson.
According to the Ethiopian National Defence Force, Landau and Gen. Anderson visited the International Aviation Exhibition organized by the Ethiopian Air Force.
The exhibition showcased aircraft, defence technologies, and related products presented by the Ethiopian Air Force, the Defence Engineering Industry Group, the Defence Institution, the Defence University, as well as several international institutions.

During the visit, Landau underscored the importance of bilateral relations between the two countries, noting that ties are expected to continue developing.
For his part, the AFRICOM commander emphasized that Ethiopia and the United States will continue working together to strengthen regional peace and security, including efforts to counter armed groups, according to the Ethiopian National Defense Force.
