Kenya, December 20, 2025 -Shabana FC delivered a commanding performance in the FKF Premier League, beating KCB 3–1 in a high-stakes clash that lifts the Kisii-based side to second place on the table, level on points with league leaders Gor Mahia.
The Glamour Boys started strongly and took the lead in the 13th minute when Kevin Omondi found space in the KCB box and finished clinically, putting Shabana ahead early and energising the home supporters. Their momentum continued as they doubled their lead in the 23rd minute through Humphrey Obina, who capitalised on a quick attacking transition to put Shabana 2–0 up before the break.
KCB responded after the interval, reducing the deficit in the 49th minute thanks to Kelvin Etemesi, whose powerful strike gave the Bankers hope of an unlikely comeback. However, Shabana quickly regained control as the game opened up. In the 61st minute, Ezekiah Omuri sealed the win with a composed finish, restoring Shabana’s two-goal lead and ensuring their victory was beyond doubt.
The result sees Shabana climb to second place in the FKF Premier League, level on points with Gor Mahia, underscoring their strong league campaign and title ambitions. The win also extended Shabana’s unbeaten run on the road, demonstrating their capability to grind out crucial results away from home.

For KCB, the defeat ends their recent run of competitiveness, denying them a chance to go top, and highlights defensive issues that have not been common in recent matches. While Etemesi’s goal provided a moment of optimism, the Bankers were unable to sustain pressure or prevent Shabana’s attacking threats.
Shabana’s head coach will take pride in his squad’s character and tactical execution, with goals from Omondi, Obina, and Omuri reflecting both quality and depth in the team. Meanwhile, KCB will look to regroup and return to winning ways in their next fixture.
