Somalia, 22 December 2925 SIMAD University has been recognized for the second consecutive year as the top university in Somalia.
According to the 2025 Arab University Rankings,
SIMAD achieved a total of 182.4 points, with the following scores:
• Education: 56.4
• Research: 70.5
• Innovation: 28.2
• Community: 27.3
The scores placed SIMAD as the highest-scoring university in Somalia.

Furthermore, SIMAD ranked 103rd among all Arab universities, improving by 10 spots from the previous year when it was ranked 113th.
The accomplishment is a significant recognition of the university's high quality in education, research, and vision, based on innovation and sustainable development.
In an official statement posted on SIMAD's website, the university highlighted the achievement as a testament to its commitment to long-term vision:
“This is a great victory, reflecting the quality of education, research, and vision at SIMAD, which is built on innovation and sustainable development.”
Other Somali universities, such as Muqdisho University, Jamhuriyah University, and Zamzam University, also ranked among the next positions following SIMAD.
The ranking comes from a list of over 230 universities across Arab countries. The exercise is conducted annually by the Arab Universities Union in collaboration with the Arab League Educational, Cultural, and Scientific Organization (ALECSO).
SIMAD’s success underscores the significant role that education plays in developing the Somali community and enhancing the knowledge and skills of the people.
