Mogadishu (Dawan Africa) – The Somali National Army (SNA), in coordination with local forces, has successfully taken control of the villages of Masjid Ali Gadud and Geelgub in the Middle Shebelle region following an operation dubbed "Silent Storm" on Wednesday.
A spokesperson from the Ministry of Defense confirmed that the operation, which had been underway for several days, resulted in the liberation of these areas from Al-Shabaab. The spokesperson did not disclose any information regarding the casualties suffered by Al-Shabaab forces during the operation, noting that further details would be released at a later time.

In addition to these gains, other strategic areas, including Sabiid and Anole in the Lower Shabelle region, were also seized, with both the SNA and local forces taking full control. The Somali government has reaffirmed its commitment to continuing operations, with plans to enhance cooperation between national and local forces to ensure the defeat of Al-Shabaab across the country.
