Morocco, 25 October 2025 – Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre departed Mogadishu on Monday for Tangier, Morocco, where he will attend the 17th edition of the MEDays Forum on global governance scheduled for November 26–29.
The forum, organized by the MEDays Forum Foundation and the Amadeus Institute, will bring together more than 7,000 participants from over 120 countries, including senior policymakers, business leaders, and global experts.
This year’s theme, “Fractures & Polarization: Reinventing the Global Equation,” focuses on escalating geopolitical tensions and the expanding role of the Global South in reshaping global governance.

Prime Minister Barre is expected to deliver a keynote address outlining Somalia’s security agenda, governance reforms, and strategic priorities in regional and international cooperation.
His participation underscores Somalia’s engagement in global dialogue on stability, development, and South–South partnerships.
Also attending is Abdisalam Abdi Ali, Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, who will take part in discussions.
