Somali President Commends Parliament's Approval of the Proposed Constitutional Amendments

Mogadishu(Mogadishu24)-President of the Federal Government, Hassan Sh. Mohamud on Saturday commended members of both House of the Federal Parliament of Somalia for approving the four chapters of the proposed amendments of the provisional constitution today.

He said that the constitution is based on Islamic Sharia and Somalia's culture, underscoring the importance of completing the constitution for the Somalia's Statehood.

"Today is a historic day which will be recorded in a golden page for the long, State-building process. Completion of the constitution is a foundation for developing the democracy, sovereignty, and Government institutions, I am calling for the members of the bicameral Parliament to pursue analysing, correcting and completing the remaining chapters", The President said in a brief statement.
