Sudan, 10 November 2025 - The Sudan Doctors Network (SDN) has accused the United Nations and the international community of failing to act quickly to save lives in El Fasher, North Darfur, where civilians are facing what they describe as “a full-fledged humanitarian crime.”
In a statement on Monday, SDN spokesperson Dr Roaa Khalid Al-Amin said thousands of civilians are trapped inside the city, living under extremely harsh conditions after the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) took full control of El Fasher in late October.
According to the doctors’ group, the situation inside the city has worsened dramatically, with people suffering from severe shortages of food, water, and medicine. Many families are reportedly hiding in fear as RSF fighters continue to target civilians.
“Women and girls have been subjected to horrific acts, including rape and physical assaults, while there is no legal or humanitarian protection available,” said Dr Al-Amin.
“What is happening in El Fasher is a humanitarian crime for which the United Nations bears responsibility for failing to intervene to protect civilians or provide safe routes for evacuation.”
On Sunday, the group accused the RSF of trying to hide evidence of mass killings.
The network said that RSF fighters have been collecting hundreds of bodies from the streets and neighborhoods, burying some in mass graves and burning others to destroy proof of their crimes.

“These crimes cannot be erased through concealment or burning,” the statement read.
“This is not an isolated incident but part of a wider pattern of genocide carried out by the RSF against civilians.”
The group called for an independent international investigation into the atrocities and urged the world not to stay silent as the humanitarian crisis deepens.
El Fasher, the last major city in Darfur previously held by the Sudanese army, fell to the RSF after months of fierce fighting.
Humanitarian agencies say thousands have been killed, while tens of thousands have fled into neighbouring areas seeking safety.
