Somalia, 17 November 2025 — Somalia’s government says the national army carried out an overnight operation in the Moora-Gaabeey area, about 37 km from Hudur in the Bakool region, killing at least three Al-Shabaab fighters and injuring more than ten others.
According to a government statement broadcast by Somali National Television (SNTV), the raid was described as a “planned and targeted operation” led by the 9th Battalion under the 60th Division.
“The operation, which was carefully planned, resulted in the killing of more than three militants, while more than ten members of the Khawaarij militia were injured,” the government said.

The army’s 9th Battalion under the 60th Division also recovered military equipment, including weapons and ammunition, which officials say were used by the militant group.
Mohamed Yarees Adan, Commander of the 60th Division, said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to weaken Al-Shabaab’s presence and improve security in the region.
