Kuwait, 27 December 2025 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait has reaffirmed its full support for the unity and sovereignty of the Federal Republic of Somalia over all its territory, rejecting reports of a mutual recognition between Israel and Somaliland.
In an official statement issued on Saturday, the ministry described the announcement as a unilateral step that violates international law and undermines the principles of respect for state sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Kuwait reiterated its firm and longstanding position in support of Somalia’s sovereignty, stressing its rejection of any actions that could compromise the country’s unity or legitimacy.

The statement also emphasized Kuwait’s continued backing of Somalia’s legitimate state institutions, in line with international law and the principles of non-interference in the internal affairs of states.
The ministry added that Kuwait remains committed to supporting efforts aimed at enhancing stability and unity in Somalia, in accordance with its consistent stance on preserving regional peace and security.
