President Hassan Sheikh, according to the sources, has emphasized the importance of Somali leaders, both in government and opposition, to present a strong and unified response against Israel’s decision.

Former President Mohamed Farmaajo and key leaders of the National Salvation Front have already condemned Israel’s recognition of Somaliland, labeling it a direct interference in Somalia’s internal affairs and a threat to peace in the Horn of Africa.
The President is also conducting consultations with global leaders, having spoken on the phone with the Presidents of Djibouti, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. The aim of the talks is to gather regional support against Israel’s decision and to strengthen Somalia’s diplomatic stance on the issue.
The upcoming meeting between President Hassan Sheikh and the opposition leaders is expected to culminate in a joint press release that will reaffirm their support for Somalia’s unity and sovereignty, while rejecting Israel’s recognition of Somaliland as a separate state.
