Somalia, 30 December 2025 The Republic of Yemen and the Sultanate of Oman have rejected Israel’s recognition of Somaliland region, reaffirming their full support for the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
In a statement, Yemen’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said Yemen maintains a firm position on Somalia’s unity and territorial integrity, rejecting any actions or practices that undermine its national unity or seek to impose a fait accompli contrary to its sovereignty.
The statement stressed Sana’a’s rejection of any declarations, arrangements, or mutual recognitions between Israel and any part of Somali territory, considering such actions a blatant breach of international law.

For its part, Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the Sultanate’s support for Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial unity, noting that it is closely following developments related to Israel's actions.
The Omani statement underscored the need to respect the principles of international law and the UN Charter, and rejected any unilateral measures that could undermine the unity or internationally recognized sovereignty of states.
The Yemeni and Omani positions come amid a growing wave of regional and international opposition to Israel’s recognition of Somaliland, alongside increasing emphasis that Somalia’s unity and sovereignty are fundamental to stability in the Horn of Africa.
