The decision comes at a time of heightened diplomatic activity in the region following Israel’s recognition of Somaliland, a development that has triggered strong reactions.
The Republic of Djibouti was among the first countries to officially condemn Israel’s decision, reaffirming its support for the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
So far, Somaliland has not provided further details on the specific objectives of the consultations. However, the move is widely seen as reflecting diplomatic sensitivity amid the current political dynamics unfolding in the region.
